Devon Aoki Biography


Devon Aoki is an American actress born on August 10, 1982 in New York City. But she grew up in California, and spent time studying at The American School in London in Westminster. Her father is a former Olympic wrestler, while her mother is a jewelry designer. She is of Japanese, American, English and German descent. Her brother is a well-known DJ in Los Angeles. Her modeling career began at the age of 13, when she was discovered at a Rancid concert in New York. She was then introduced to model Kate Moss who became her mentor in the modeling world. In 1998, Devon Aoki became the new face of Versace replacing Naomi Campbell.

Since then, the rising hot model endorsed famous brands such as LancĂ´me and Chanel. She also did ad campaigns for Versace Atelier, Junko Shimada and Baby Phat. Devon Aoki has as well began appearing in music videos, such as Duran Duran’s Electric Barbarella, Primal Scream’s Kowalski, Ginuwine’s In Those Jeans, Elton John’s Something About the Way You Look Tonight, and Ludacris’s Act a Fool, which was included in the movie 2 Fast 2 Furious. In 2006, she took part in the music video Bones by The Killers.

The sexy Devon Aoki then stormed Hollywood as an actress, whose film credits include 2 Fast 2 Furious, D.E.B.S., Dead or Alive and War. She had to learn how to drive during the filming of 2 Fast 2 Furious and at that time she didn’t have a driver’s license yet. She is also set to be part of the movie The Mutant Chronicles which is set to be released on 2008. Devon Aoki is managed by Los Angeles’s International Creative Management and The Firm. She as well plans to launch her own fashion line in the future.
